Hit and Run Accidents Explained

The number of hit and run accidents continues to rise every year based on reports and this is in the United States alone. The National Highway Traffic safety Administration have released the information saying that there have been 15% more hit and run accidents now when compared to the reported accidents 5 years ago. In fact, more than 3 million hit and run accidents happen every year and this kind of accident is one of the most common causes of death among pedestrians.

The investigation of hit and run accidents will mostly focus on the driver. Even if the driver didn't hit the person on purpose, he should still take appropriate consequences and punishment. Most drivers who escape and run away from the scene of the incident were afraid to face these consequences and think that they could get away from authorities and the law. There are some other reasons why a driver who was involved in a hit and run accident would want to run away.

One of the most common reasons is that the person is driving without a license. This is strictly prohibited and if the driver is caught of this violation, it will add up to his offense and could make the case against him stronger. Another common reason is because the driver is drunk or had too much alcohol. Being drunk could affect the way people think and driving while under the influence of alcohol or liquors is also against the law.

The consequences of driving an uninsured car or vehicle is another thing that could come into a driver's mind when he has accidentally hit another person. Most states require every vehicle owner to get insurance for their vehicles before they would be allowed to use them. These are some of the most common reasons why a driver would try to get away from the scene of the accident.

If you will get involved in a hit and run accident, make sure to get as much important information as you can. Details such as the plate number of the vehicle, the brand and model of the vehicle, and any other vehicle description that could help identify it. If you could see the inside of the vehicle, it would also help if you will try to remember how many people were in the car when the accident happened.

In the event that the vehicle was not identified or the driver denied their involvement, you could still file for a claim to your own insurance policy or coverage. Most insurance policies in different states include coverage for the damages caused by a hit and run accident. You will need the help of outstanding lawyers to get to the bottom of this incident and to help identify the person responsible for the accident. The attorneys will do their best to gather evidences that could prove the accusation. The attorneys should be the one to shoulder your medical expenses and all the damages and losses that the accident has caused.

Subway Diet - The Commercial Huge Hit Diet Method Explained

Everyone is familiar with the Subway Diet featuring Jared, the guy who lost 245 pounds in a year by walking and replacing two meals a day with Subway sandwiches. Now, as Paul Harvey would say, it's time for the rest of the story. Read further for a brief history of the subway diet.

Like man college students Jared Fogle worked a part time job, his at an adult book store, to pay for college. He sat long hours in a class room, sat long hours behind the counter at the video store while eating snacks, and as a result ended up weighing 425 pounds. Jared realized his weight was critical and so started looking for a way to drop some pounds.

None of the diets he tried worked - he couldn't stick to them. But then he found a Subway shop near his dorm. Without knowing it he was inventing the Subway diet. Jared decided to skip breakfast every day, walk the mile and a half there and back to Subway for both lunch and dinner during which he consumed only a sandwich, a bag of baked chips and a diet soft drink. His caloric intake plummeted from about 10,000 calories each day to only 900, with 6 miles of walking added for good measure. The result of Jared's personal Subway diet was a loss of 245 pounds in only a year.

How did this Subway diet become a national ad campaign for the Subway chain? After losing the weight Jared ran into a friend who worked with the school paper. This buddy barely recognized Jared, so he decided to write an article about his amazing weight loss. Men's Health magazine picked up the story as part of an article about weird diets that work. A subway franchisee in Chicago brought the story to the attention of his advertising people who talked to Jared to make certain it was legit. They took the ad idea to Subway's national ad agency who disliked the idea, so they created a local campaign for Chicago featuring the Subway diet.

Needless to say the Subway diet became a huge hit. Suddenly Jared and his Subway diet were everywhere - in newspapers, on television, even on Oprah. Now it was the national agency's turn to ask about running the ads around the country.

The Subway diet has worked for a lot of people. But keep in mind that Jared's extreme program of calorie cutting and extreme weight loss are, in general, potentially dangerous. His plan of cutting calories and exercise are well known to lead to weight loss and a healthy life style.
